Essential Cookie: connect.sid
This is a session cookie that keeps you signed in while you use the signed-in areas of our website — the admin panel, e-mail verification links and password reset pages. It is only written once you actually sign in; visitors who simply browse this site are never given a cookie.
The cookie is configured as follows:
- HttpOnly — cannot be read by JavaScript, protecting it against cross-site scripting attacks.
- Secure — sent over HTTPS connections only.
- SameSite: Lax — mitigates cross-site request forgery.
The cookie itself contains nothing more than an opaque session identifier. The session data it points to is held in our database, not on your device.
Mobile App
The Be My Guest mobile app does not use cookies at all. It authenticates using tokens sent in the request header, so most of our users never encounter a cookie.
Language Preference (not a cookie)
Your TR/EN language choice is saved in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. It stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Analytics and Advertising
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any other third-party tracking technology on bemyguestapp.net. Should this ever change, we will update this policy and obtain your consent beforehand where the law requires it.
Why We Don't Show a Cookie Banner
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and Turkish data protection law (KVKK), consent is not required for cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver a service the user has requested. Our session cookie exists solely because you asked to sign in, and it performs no tracking — so no consent banner is needed.
3. Managing Cookies
You can view, block and delete cookies through your browser settings. Because our only cookie is the one that keeps you signed in, blocking it will sign you out and prevent you from using the signed-in areas of the site; the public pages will continue to work normally.
4. Third-Party Cookies
We do not embed third-party content that sets cookies on this site. Our pages link out to the App Store and Google Play, but those cookies are only set once you leave our site and visit them, under their own policies.
